The current season has been moving quite fast, especially compared with the last 3 seasons (more weather information can be found in Weather update and continues bloom). Growing Degree Days (GDD) have been increasing steadily throughout the season, which has impacted in faster bloom. It’s still a good time for the collection of tissues for nutrient analyses (for more information on how to collect samples please check Guide for pests and diseases and tissue sampling information), for this upcoming Best Practices session!
In this session Dr. Zoe Migicovsky will be providing
information on rootstocks, their interaction with the scion and some main
characteristics. Complementing this session, the usual speakers will discuss
the activities in the vineyard.
This session our agenda will be as follows:
- Dr. Zoe Migicovsky: Grapevine rootstocks
- Francisco Diez: Weather update, tucking, shoot thinning and leaf removal
- Growers discussions: Steve Ells from Ellslea Farm and Marcel Kolb from Luckett Vineyards
The Best Practices session 3 will be next Thursday July 8 at
6:30 pm on Zoom. Registration is required, please see the following
