In our previous session at the beginning of June, we tackled many activities for the following weeks, such as shoot thinning, spray applications, weed management, the first wire movement, etc. Since a couple of weeks ago bloom started in early hybrids and still work in progress in the latest vinifera varieties, at this phenological stage it’s the right time for tissue sampling for nutrient analysis. Other activities are coming as well, and it’s a good time for the Best Practices session 3!
At this
time our speaker will be Alyson Bremner, Crop Advisor from Agromart, who will
present the services with direct influence in managing resources in the
vineyard. As traditionally done in other sessions, Jeff Franklin will update us
with the last weather observations. Francisco Diez will present the main
activities in the vineyards with a focus in tissue sampling. Closing our
session, Steve Ells and Danielle Graham will be discussing the activities
happening in the vineyards and their observations.
This session’s agenda will be as follows:
- Alyson Bremner: Services to improve vineyard management
- Jeff Franklin: Weather update
- Francisco Diez: Vineyard activities and emphasis on tissue sampling
- Growers’ discussions: Steve Ells from Ellslea Farm and Danielle Graham from Benjamin Bridge
The Best Practices session 3 will be this Thursday July 7 at
